Hi, I'm playing it with dosbox linux version with no trouble till now.

Just installed the game with wine, and then installed dosbox. Modified the dosboxTLE.conf for linux enviroment (changing the "\" for "/" in directories) and launched with "dosbox -conf /path/to/dosboxTLE.conf".

Hope It helps
What Celeblin said. Running the Windows version of DOSBox under Wine is ... just too many layers of emulation (though it might work, it's unlikely to be as good as running the Linux version of DOSBox).

I've been playing TLE in DOSBox Linux and it works fine, once you do what Celeblin said to do.

Just like others said. I did run it under wine but the graphics were quite slow. Had some minor problems with sound as well on my computer. Started it in dosbox for linux and it runs much much better.
Hi, I'm trying to play on a Mac, I have already installed the game thanks to Wine (I also have a PC if I want to install the files), I've tried playing the game with Wine, CXG, and Dosbox with no success.

In Wine and CXG I managed to launch the game only once, after the the installation was completed (with the "launch game" button), and I encountered the same problems mgicua and Odisej described. I can't launch the game anymore because Wine can only launch Dosbox but not the game. I think it has something to do with the "flag exe" command (I found that out because on my PC, the shortcut to Last Express is configured to launch DosBox but it also has a command with dosbox -conf dosboxTLE.conf -noconsole -c "exit" or something like that...).

And with Dosbox alone (using Boxer), I can launch express.exe but dos tells me "Could not detect a CD ROM drive". I'm using a MacBook Air (with no CD drive), but the game shouldn't use a CD anyway since it's a GOG downloaded version.

Any help would be welcome.

edit : I also found this about de "-conf" command on this site : http://jordanmechner.com/last-express/
if you search for "wine", a message posted by muesli describes how to make the game work with Dosbox but I don't understand the process.
