After playing and enjoying the trip from Paris to Munich very much the game started to become a bit strange. On lunchtime, second day, I wanted to speak to the gentlemen of whom I thought recently boarded the train, but instead of enjoying a delightful conversation, I suddenly stood and he walked away. I really understood there was something wrong after the Concert just before reaching Vienna. The dialog scenes with August Schmitt were missing, too. And after rewinding and trying again, the scene in which I obtained the "rather heavy briefcase" missed, too.
I tried rewinding the game several times, but now all dialog scenes are missing. I reinstalled the game. The scenes are missing. I redownloaded the setup file (integrity checked) and reinstalled - no scenes in my savegame. I started a new game - even the intro is missing.
With the dialogs disembarked the train the game is no fun. What can I do? I'd like to resume my game, but how?

I had this issue too. I just changed the display settings in the graphics mode setup to Direct3D and it seems to be working fine now.

This problem shows up when the DATA folder is not mounted as the cdrom. Look at the dosboxTLE.conf file and make sure that the mount D ".\data" -t cdrom line exists. In my case, I had a copy of the file in order to be able to play it from Linux, with "./data" instead of ".\data", and the windows version was picking up that copy, disabling the cutscenes.

Changing the graphics mode didn't work. I think I've tried them all. But thanks. This was promising. There was a line "MOUNT d "./data" -t cdrom" and I changed the "MOUNT d" into "mount D" - but it didn't work either.
Is it right, that this line has to stand at the bottom of the .conf file (not as last line, there were still several others)? I'm not used to tamper with .conf files.

I'm having a similar problem. Never had any problems when I played it on Gametap.

My game was fine until Munich. And then certain events failed to happen, and it kinda snowballed into some strange effects. Particularly related to the concert. Once 3:00 rolled around, the game thought the concert was ongoing. I can roam freely in the concert room, but Kyeena (sp?) looks like she's floating in midair due to a difference in POV from the normal mode and the concert mode. Very odd.

Also, Wolff is in her room standing and playing as if she were in concert. Not sitting like she does when she rehearses.

The chess game in the smoking car has been going on for about 5 hours, which was particularly odd when Sophie calmly sat and enjoyed her coffee in Tatiana's lap while Tatiana played chess.

When 5:00 rolled around, the guy came and asked Wolff to do a concert at 3:00, at which point it was instantly 3:15 (?) and Wolff went to her car to practice...and by the concert started instantly. But certain important items were not where they needed to be.

The point is, I wouldn't have known anything was wrong had I not played it before. I bought this game so that my mother could play it. I hope it's not this broken for her. Fantastic game, but please fix it if you can.

Can't believe it ! I got the same problem ! This version of TLE has been nothing but troubles to me so far. I enjoyed the game (CDrom French version) when I was younger and I do not remember it to be so full of bugs.

So, as you reported, everything was right (except for the few other troubles I got, reported on other topics) until the end of the concert (shortly before Munich). But the scene with Schmidt and the briefcase, then the one with Kahina asking (more like threatening) for the money back were automatically skipped. I tried to keep on playing anyway, hoping this eventually passes but then, after I give the money to Kronos, I just couldn't pause the game (clicking on the egg to show the clock and the map) without it crashing !

This is really annoying as I fear I could not be able to finish the game. Did the persons who had this issue too manage to fix it ? I tried the two suggestions already in this thread but neither worked ! Help me !

EDIT : Forget I say anything ! I finally managed to somehow fix the problem on my own by fiddling with the "dosboxTLE.ini" file. Eventually, the game works better though I still encounter some scenes missing sometimes but it can be fixed by rewinding and re-launching the game. Annoying but tolerable...

I finished the game yesterday and it was most enjoyable experience. Too bad I missed this gem when it was first published.

I had problems with cutscenes twice. First time I missed some cutscenes and second time I missed all cutscenes. Both times quitting to desktop and relaunching the game solved the issue.

Only settings which I tweaked before playing were the DOSBox cycles which I dropped to 30 000, because in my experience many old DOS games don't work well with maximum cycles.

This works - quit to desktop and restart. You might have to rewind to the scene you want but it worked for me.

I couldn't get the dream scene before budapest, and every cutscene after that was missing. After a restart, all worked!
