I'm running Windows 7 32-bit through VMWare Fusion on a Macbook Pro.

The game will start no problem, and everything displays appropriately in windowed mode. However, when I switch to full screen, the screen goes blank (though the sound can still be heard). It's not crashing. It just won't display the video.

I've tried messing with the Dosbox config file to no avail.

Any tips to help me out?
Yeah pal, I've ran into the same problem ! And since you did not get any answer nor did you insist, I assume you manage to solve the problem on your own ! Could you (or anybody else) help me out ?

edit : well, actually, I just didn't run the "Graphic Mode Setup" before launching the game (silly me !) ! Now, it works just well, except I have the "mouse axis" problem [http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_last_express/mouse_behaves_weird_in_this_game] !

Anyway, I enjoyed this game far too much (in French version) when I was younger, and I really want to play it again, in original version this time (even though I think a lot of characters will still be speaking french ! ^^ ) ! So, I'll just ignore this mouse issue, hoping this won't be too much of a problem (I'm looking forward to catching the goddamn beetle, for I know it shall be the trickiest part with this issue...) !
This is going to be good !!!
Thanks GOG for bringing us back the Good Old Games !!!

I'm having the same issue right now! Can somebody post a step-by-step solution to this? I'm not a computer techie and need very specific instructions.
Hey Beedle, I know i'm a little late, but after i purchased this game today I had the same problem, I fixed it by doing it like this.

Click Start
Click All Programmes
Click GOG Games
Click Last Express
Click Graphic Mode Setup
Change it to DDraw
Click save settings :) It should work
Wow, thanks, this helped me, too!

My problem: I went manually into the Program Files --> Gog.com --> The Last Express folder and clicked on the Graphics Mode Setup icon there.

Silly me. You have to do it through the Start menu. Of course. :/

Anyway, I'm just glad I won't have to run the game in a small window. Time to (finally) start exploring the Last Express!
