I know GOG doesn't officially support anything on OSX/Linux, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a fix.

The game runs ok in DOSBox under OSX, but the colors are all messed up. In full screen it looks like the highlights are blown out, like the gamma is cranked way up - lighter areas of the screen appear scrambled bright green/pink.

Running in a window is better, but everything looks like green monochrome. I've tried different display adapters in the .conf file, but the ones that work at all (VESA, vga, svga) have the same problem.

I've tried Googling, and have found that it is a known issue in OSX, but no fixes. Please help! I've been waiting years to play this game!

Edit: Attached a screenshot, in case it helps. Top is fullscreen, bottom is in a window.

I think the gamr is soon finishable in ScummVM, you could try playing it with a daily build from there...

I don't recommend waiting forScummVM support. So far they are still working on getting the first chapter to run:

From what I understand this is a lot of hard work and will take quite some time (think months). I really admire and salute the people doing it.
ah yes the 16 bit colour mess up.
We still need to investigate that, but not having a MAC complicates matters.

You might want to try boxer, which I think uses a different graphics output system.

Excellent, thank you! Boxer works like a charm.
Hey there - how exactly did you get it to run in Boxer on OS X? All the guides out there seem to be for versions not downloaded from Gog.
Hi,

I know this is an old topic, but in case someone is still having problems with running the game via Boxer: remember to mount the game cds after launching the DOS prompt. Just click on Drives > Add DOS drive > point to the directory where you put the CD files (in my case it is a directory I created called cds, which contains 3 disk images) > enter c: > enter express.exe and press Enter. Hope this solution helps someone. Not sure if this method will work for the GOG version though (but it still should give you some clue), as I purchased my copy on eBay about 2 years ago.
