I bought this pack the other day when it was in the Battle of the Games and so far I have only played the first IM game and it's very good. However, I'm having difficulty tracking my progress through the puzzles.

Everytime I load the game up, it starts at the first puzzle again and the "select puzzle" option simply lets you play any puzzle regardless of if you have completed it or not. I suppose I can just make a note of the puzzle I'm on or even write the password down but is there a better way? Am I missing something?

Also, can anyone give me the order of the games (from first to last) please?

Sadly, there is no save system, you have to use passwords (for the first game).

The order of the games are as follows:

The Even More Incredible Machine
The Incredible Machine 3 (Contains all levels from TIM2)
The Incredible Machine - Even More Contraptions
Return of the Incredible Machine Contraptions

As I recall from when I was playing the original "Even more incredible machine", the levels in that version would be red until you've solved the previous one, but that was only true for levels 87 and above. It is possible that the game keeps a savefile somewhere, that by removing it you could reset it, but I've no idea what file that may be, or where it may be found. I will try looking for it during the weekend, and see whether my memory is playing with me or not.
Thank you very much guys.
I'm late to the party but in case another player wonders.

There is actually a savegame system in the game.

The Even More Incredible Machine is an upgraded version of The Incredible Machine, it was released a year after the original game and contained more items, musics, every level from The Incredible Machine and just as many additional levels.

But the folks behind that game were very thoughtful for their existing players and unlocked the original levels from the get-go in Even More Incredible Machine, this way those who played and finished The Incredible Machine back in the days could play Even More Incredible Machine and jump straight to the new stuff, without having to replay the original levels. That's why the first half of the level selection screen is entirely green, and the second half is red.

My advice is to make a note of the level you're at when you stop playing until you reach the extra levels.
