goranpandev: Whenever I see a warning about "plague coming to the city" I find myself a woollen cloak and wear it for two years. I never got the plague. In the game's manual, woollen cloak is explained like this: A woollen cloak will to some extent of certainty protect its wearer from illnesses for 2 years. So I was wondering if these plagues fall in the category of illnesses or don't they? Was my not being effected by plagues just luck? Do woollen cloaks work against random diseases which doctors try to cure?
I think a woolen cloak IS supposed to do exactly that - protect against diseases that the Doctor can later cure. I'm not sure about the plague, I'd say probably. It also wouldn't surprise me if you could get the Doctor to attempt a cure for the plague as well (which would most likely fail - he sometimes fails even on other diseases too!).
As for getting the plague - I think luck plays a HUGE role. I have NEVER gotten the plague, and I have played on hard difficulty a few times, and I've NEVER bothered buying a woolen cloak. I've definitely had the message "the plague comes to town" and seen the floating grim reaper above the town (took me a while to actually notice that LOL!) - but so far my character's have been fine.
I've had plenty of other random diseases though, which I've either been able to cure or which go away with time. Like baldness (!!)...
