Hey everyone,
What is the difference be normal exe and the TnL?
Also as a gameplay question is it possible to kill your rivals or wife? Ive seen the option to thrash (which does what exactly) and kidnap, but nothing that would indicate the death of someone.
My last question is that if you change professions are you still in control of your old one? If so, do you still gain skills in the old prof?
Thanks,
Dirk13

You want to use the normal.exe if you have a modern graphics card, TnL is for older cards. It stands for Transform and lighting and I think helps older cards process effects a new card wouldn't have problems with.
You can kill someone, but its hard and only works on an opponent with the lowest candle, or rarely with the 2nd lowest candle. If you have high combat, then first insult the person until he challanges you to a duel. Cheat and try to get him unconsious. He may not die, but still will be forced out of office. If he does not die, then find one of his houses and use toad slime. This method works fairly well for killing people ,if not try the duel and toadslime again the following year.
You can change proffesions but you will no longer gain skills in it, you will however keep it. So its a good idea to level one proffession to masters then change to another level that one up and so on.

Once you have sufficient wealth to get a larger country house/castle one of the upgrades allows you to hire an assassin to send after people as well with varying degrees of success... another good way to remove a rival/wife.
Edit: Just to add to what the above poster said... that although you keep your old profession at whatever level you obtained once you build up a few there is never enough time to run the businesses yourself (especially if dabbling in politics too) so the only benefit then is the ability to upgrade/buy business properties at the higher levels and any perks with that... chances are that you'd be better off paying a master to handle the business then whilst you focus on the next and/or politics. Remember that your offspring inherits whatever profession levels your original person has so after a few generations or so you should have quite a collection but you are unlikely (if not impossible) to have even half by the time your first character dies.

Actually you've got it backwards. TnL is for modern video cards that are capable of hardware Transform & Lighting (basically every video card made in this decade). The regular executable is for the really old cards that don't have T&L, like the Voodoo2. This information is straight out of the readme.
