Does anyone still play this game multiplayer? And if so, how? Did GOG's network take over?

I wonder too. Love this game but have never played in multiplayer mode. I assume once one starts in server mode and doesn't have firewall blocking game's port (need to figure out which port it's using beforehand), other can join using hoster's IP address.
