would be an interesting mini game if the game provided more information than "You missed." Is there any way to see where the shot landed so an adjustment can be made? I suppose this seems like the kind of thing a gamer would expect. Probably not the case in this game.

At any rate, some of you have succeeded with the cannon. I'd love to get an idea of how you did. If there is a magic formula, I don't want it. I just want to have some idea of how to discover it.

Thanks to anyone who replies to this question about a very old game. I've made progress in discovering how things work, but I would prefer that the manual gave a little more information. It reads as "Here's a cool thing you can do. Spend enough time and you may be able to figure out how and why... Here's another cool thing you can do..."
