Hey guys and gals,
So I am trying out the guard profession for the first time, and well it is confusing for me.
I have a few specific problems that I will list, but general advice is welcome.
Problem 1 : Profit. I cant get it. I send out my guards to patrol and I get a pittance at the end of the day, like 50 gold. You get more, about 250 if you kill a thief, but even when I have overwhelming force I can just kill one a day, if I am lucky. The rest run. This seems to be due to limitations in the combat system. thieves just walk past my guards while they hack away, but because they are moving they never get hit.
I think a partial solution is ranged weapons. Have yet to try lots of ranged weapons.
Anyway, at best I end up with about 250 gold, which does not come near covering expenses.
General questions: What is the point of investigating a building? Is that to allow raids? What about Guarding a building? I assume the guarding stops thieves, only useful for your own businesses.
Anyway, thanks in advance
