The description says, that the game features a coop mode. In the main menu, there is no menu item for this, I can only select a savegame and start a singleplayer game. Also ingame there is no option to switch to multiplayer. How does this work?

According to PcGamingWiki, online server are no longer available.

If you want to play with frieds, your best choice is to try Parsec and play remote split-screen.
