The game works perfectly when in window mode no matter what settings I use, but as soon as it goes into fullscreen mode it immediately drops to like 15FPS permanently and eventually crashes. I've done multiple tests in different areas with different settings and everytime I enter fullscreen, boom! I never had this issue on Steam version.

If it matters, I have a:
Ryzen 9 3900X,
gigabyte RX 5700 XT,
Aorus X570 motherboard,
2 8GB of RAM 3600MHz,
3 SSDs all Samsung Evo 860 or something.
also a LG ultrawide 1080P monitor

I have the same issue if I have a browser open in the background.

I have the same issue. It's perfect windowed, slows to a crawl fullscreen. Baffling issue.

I have the same issue and looked on pcgamingwiki.com for a solution. Apparently the game doesn't like AMDs Freesync and turning it off solved the problem for me.
