Hi all, has anyone come across this one. Each time I load the game it tells me "cheat mode has been activated due to use of developer tools". I have no performance metrics (the in game option) and have verified the game files (via GoG launcher).

Just wondering if this is standard or if there is anything else I need to do / setup.

Thanks, Chris

Probably, these are the modes, which can be turned off in game's Options menu.
Since this game is on GOG (i.e. DRM-Free), linking to Bethesda account is not required and these modes were included by default (which is a good thing).

This excerpt from the game's wiki explains these modes:

Introduced in Update 1.05 for The Evil Within 2 are four bonus additions to the game, of them three are considered "cheats".

These new modes are AKUMU, One-Shot Kill, Invincibility and Infinite Stamina, which are self-explanatory. While AKUMU is a selectable difficulty when starting a new game, the other three settings are found under the Options menu, and can be toggled on and off freely during play.

In order to access the new modes, an account link to Bethesda.net is required. Unlike Console commands, using the three "cheats" does not void achievement progress.
