I got this a part of the Deadelic bundle during the christmas sales and installed it immediately. I just started it up to make sure it worked, played just long enough to get out of the house at the very beginning of the game, then saved it.
...
Fastforward to this evening.

I decided to give it a serious go, actually PLAYING the game instead of just testing it. I load up the save. Each time I make an action the game work fine for 4-5 seconds, then crashes to desktop without any error messages at all. If I load I can leave the game up for as long as I like, but if I talk to someone, inspect anything or move to another screen the game crashes shortly after.

Nevermind, must be a corrupted save, right?
So I start a new game. The intro plays, and JUST as the game fades out to load the scene of my character being bullied the game crashes. Restart and start anew, but the same result. Have tried both casual and challenging options, but it makes no difference.

Next step was to uninstall, then reboot and reinstall the game.
Guess what... No difference. :-/
At this point I'm starting to be a bit annoyed.

I'm running the game at fullscreen (1280*1024).
In the config I have the following options:
- Scaling method: on (won't even start if I turn it off)
- Subtitles: on
- Color depth: 16 bit
- Additional effects: Low
I've tried both Texture Compression and HD Video, but it makes no difference.

I'm guessing the Log Level is supposed to generate a rapport of errors and such, but all it does is create an empty text document called either "stderr" or "stdout" with 0kB size and no content.

I run on Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bit) and meet all the system requirements for the game.
Anyone else with the same problems, or even better, a solution?

Awesome :D
Here's my reply from the GOG support. I though I'd post it here for anyone else that might have the same problem. Will go through it all later tonight and let you know the result.

Hello

1) Please make sure that you use "Run as Administrator" to install and to start the game (right click on the shortcut or setup file and select "Run as Administrator").

2) Please reinstall the game to a simpler path (like: C:\Games).

3) Install the June 2010 DirectX runtime package, then use the DirectX web installer, as your current DirectX may have become corrupt over time.

You can find the ZIP file containing the 2010 package installation files here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=3b170b25-abab-4bc3-ae91-50ceb6d8fa8d

You will have to extract the files into some folder, then open that folder and launch the DXSETUP.exe file in order to proceed with the installation.

Afterwards, download the latest DirectX web installer and use it as well:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

4) If it doesn't help please try contacting the official support:
http://www.daedalic.de/de/support/
Here are some instruction:
http://forum.daedalic.de/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1530
The log files should be useful for them:
"Launch the VisionaireConfigurationTool and set Loglevel to Info.
Reproduce the crash
Launch the game and reproduce the crash situation.
The local app data folder (Win: either opened before or press Win + R and enter "%localappdata%", Mac: /Users//Library/Application Support/Daedalic Entertainment/) now contains the files "messages.log" and (possibly) "visplayer.dmp"."
