I can't get this thing to run. I see others saying that now english and german are now hungarian. I go to download the thing and see "HUNGARIAN" right in the title of the game. I install it and can't get it to even open up. I read the first page of posts here and got tired of it.

I know this is a mod and not a game sold by Gog, but what happened to their philosophy of "making old games run on new systems" anyway? I mean if you download Gothic, or Gothic 2, from here, the do NOT fucking run. Period. To play Gothic 1 I had to go through literally weeks of trial and error. Gothic 2 was less, but still over a week. And I can't get this to run.

Is the Steam version any better? Is there a source where someone can just follow instruction 1 through whatever and have it run on...Wnidows 7, Windows 10, or Windows 11?

The more time that passes the more frustrating I'm getting with Gog. Download speeds are atrocious. Customer service, which IMO back in the day was one of their strengths is now basically a crap shoot.

I want to play this. I really do. But I don't have another weeks plus in me to give to get a game to run. I know it's free, but you know what? Folks that do these mods take donations, and I don't blame them. I've given many times myself (not to this one). But I can't give a penny for something that doesn't run without taking a course in computer engineering and figuring it out on your own. Does anyone know if the Steam version works? I'm not a Steam fan, but I guess I could add that and see.

Sorry. I'm just really, really frustrated right now.
