This is very annoying. Every time I play this, it crashes. I play a little more than 20 min, and the screen turns black, and I can't do anything. Help?

There's always a solution, just sometimes there's no people reading the subforum. ;)

Have you tried playing the game in windowed mode instead of fullscreen (at least your description sounds like you're playing fullscreen)?

I've never heared about this kind of error in TCL (black screen after some time of playing, am I correct)?
New version of the game (which should be coming out along with the Steam version, so this fall) should fix remaining graphic \ performance problems on new monitor, so if that's the case - you can try windowed for now and wait for the fix.
If it's some other error - you can try to contact publisher's support support [at] screen7.co.uk - maybe they'll know the way to fix this.

The only black screen issue I was able to find was on the game's tech FAQ:

Indeed. This is your machine causing this, not the game. The game would simply load things prior to running, it would not suddenly try and run something or access hardware during the gameplay causing it to "go blank".

Are you on a laptop? It should be in high performance battery mode.

Are you making sure to "Run as administrator" under Win 7 or Vista? Again if you don't, sometimes the right graphics functions won't load correctly.

Do you have DirectX 9.0 installed? Merely a suggestion, it sounds like you do if you're able to play the game for a bit.

I'm sorry you're having this problem, but as far as I can tell it really is not the game causing this error, but the device it's being used on.

Of the thousands of players, we've only had two types of "black screen" reports, one being in Chapter 4 (Novotnus above has the solution for you above) and one whereby it's black/frozen from startup. We've not had any reports of it just "going blank" during gameplay, which would strongly suggest it's a localized problem to the machine rather than an error with the game.

I hope you manage to figure out the issue.
