I have the Mac version of this game and I've run into a repeatable crash which has pretty much halted my playing it.

When trying to rescue the "stew" :) after I tie the string to the salt shaker on the scales, the game will freeze for about 5 seconds, then crash and dump me back to the Finder. I'm running OS X 10.8.4 on an iMac (late 2012) with 32GB RAM, a 3.9GHz i7 and a 2GB nVidia card.

Anyone else having this problem?

UPDATE:

It looks like this is more of a widespread issue than I thought. See forum.kingart-games.com/index.php/topic,11527.0.html

I've emailed the developers with crash logs and system information. Hopefully they can figure out the issue.

UPDATE 2: The developers sent me a save game file that moves you past the crashing scenario. If anyone needs a copy of it, shoot me a private message and I'll send you a copy.

I came across the same bug myself just now in the Windows version. It must have something to do with the animation of the scale not starting properly. I was able to circumvent it though by trying something out since I knew the game didn't crash immediately. So I set up the scale, left cave, put up both items, left cave, tied string, left cave, and when I re-entered to watch what happened next there was no crash, and the game behaved like it should. *shrug*

You didn't miss much from there to the beginning of Ch3 as that's right afterwards. Still, weird glitch. At least this ought to be helpful to other people who haven't played this game yet.

Hi, this did not work for me. Tha game still crashes just after I put up both items. Do you know how to install/add the external save game files in the game?
Many thanks
I'm on Windows 8.1 64Bit and my game kept crashing after using the saltshaker during the "Free the Human from The Cooking Pot" stage of Chapter 2 . I seem to have fixed the problem. I used the "Troubleshoot compatibility" function by right clicking on the game shortcut. It assessed the app as being compatible to Windows 7 and now I've been able to get past the crash and so far it's going ok. Fingers crossed this is a permanent fix!
Windows 7 compatibility fixed it for me in Windows 10 64-bit.

hi,

I'm having the exact same problem on i IMac, could you upload this saved game somewhere so I can proceed?
Just experienced this in Win 10. On attempt #3, after placing the salt shaker on the scales, I still had a window of time which allowed me to tie the end of the rope to it and immediately click the lamp to have the sequence play out. No crash there.

After having the same glitch i set the game to run in compatibility mode by right clicking on the game icon on my desktop, this worked and stopped the glitch.

Thanks all
