Hi..

I almost completed BT 1 (right now I'm fighting my way through mangars tower). I never played BT 2 & 3. Should I complete these games before moving to BT 4 in Order to fully understand the story or possible references?

Thanks!

IMO, BT4 is wholly self-contained--if you have almost completed BT1 then you should know pretty much everything about some of the general themes in the series, but BT4 is a completely different game--almost unique among games in general, imo--and certainly unique in terms of the series. BT4 fully advantages itself of SoA tech today, whereas the original BT1/2/3 were restricted in both scope and play to the by-comparison severe technological limits of their era. BT1/2/3 Remastered makes good use of current tech, but not nearly as much as BT4 uses it--simply because the Remastered games have to at least vaguely resemble the graphics, style, and play of the original games thirty years ago.
Thanks for your detailed answer. I think after finishing BT1 I will go directly with BT 4. Although I definitly plan to play the second and the third game, I have not that much free time left as I had 30 years ago. :)

Also if it helps any, I played the originals and I enjoyed BT1, but felt that the others became repetitive and at times silly. If I were going to "do the series", I'd play them in this order:

BT1
BT4
BT2&3 (maybe, if you liked BT1 enough)
Thanks for your answer. I think I will play BT4 before playing BT2+3 then. I completed BT 1 Remastered a few weeks ago. Looking forward to play BT4 now..
