GOG, and anyone who explained last week that GOG was not to blame for last week's patch delay, I humbly apologize.

I should not have criticized you, and I realize now I was being a fanboy and not thinking clearly. After InXile publicly admitted this week to not using the developer portal, I cannot blame you and should not have blamed you to begin with.

GOG, I am sorry. I love you.

Very sincerely,
-simteer
Same here. Egg on my face and blame lies solely with Inxile.
It makes no sense for me. Gog designs Galaxy and builds in a developer portal specifically for the benefit of publishers and developers--but InXile elects not to use it. In lieu of any official comment from inXile explaining this or apologizing for inXile's lack of Galaxy support, it would appear that getting the patches to Steam first is quite deliberate and nothing but an effort to undercut their GOG sales of the game--which makes no sense. However, if they are getting some kind of kickback from Valve for doing that it would make too much sense, entirely! But it makes no financial sense whatsoever why they would want to undercut Gog sales of their own game! Crazy.

I thought that surely in the almost two weeks it has been since the game was released that by now inXile would have learned everything there is to know about the Galaxy developer portal and how to use it. Guess not.

Nothing would surprise me where Valve is concerned, something sure seems to stink in all this.

They have Wasteland 2 and Tides of Numenera. They use the portal at Steam. They've been with GOG a long time. They know about it.

Yes, I know...;) I was being politely sarcastic about it...;) OTOH, we still do not know *why* they haven't used it...;) They certainly should know about it. Galaxy has been out of beta for at least a year, now. That's when I first started using Galaxy.

Hickory explained over a week ago that it was InXile choosing not to use the portal. I was just being a fanboy and didn't want to hear it.

The reasons "why" we may never know. They also never responded to my tweet asking them to consider using the established dev portal here on GOG.
I also think this is the last InXile game I help crowdfund. I waited 3 years for this game and can't even get patches on time because I'm a gog second class citizen.

As much as I love and respect Mr. Fargo, this is probably the last InXile game I buy for a while.

EDIT: I pinged Mr. Fargo on Twitter asking him if his company could start using the dev portal on GOG. Fingers crossed. I really look up to the guy and feel some of the heat he's gotten the past few years hasn't entirely been his fault. We'll see though.

If patch 3 releases after Polish business closing time on a Friday and we have to wait till Monday again, I will be upset about it, but in the end it's not the end of the world. I think I got so upset about this whole situation because I really like the game, and want to see it in an optimal state.

It's just a shame between the patch fiasco of this and other disappointments from game developers recently. I am literally at the point where I play THQ Nordic published games, and WoW, and not much else.

Don't really think it would make me buy a game on steam because a patch in the future may come out a couple of days earlier

Not sure what influences my decision probably which portal puts the game in my face first
