I have The Bard's Tale in my inventory. Yesterday I installed GOG Galaxy Beta and this game is 'Not yet available' (to download/install.) It's weird because, of course, the game has been long available. I haven't installed though.

I suspect the game is not compatible with Galaxy yet, but I could not find any notion about that. I don't have a problem as I believe I can download the installer with the downloader.

I also am seeing this issue. I could have simply missed it but I don't recall seeing this a few days ago when I was downloading a few other games.
Games have to be repackaged to work with galaxy. There are tweaks to the installer, as I understand it.

I don't think the process is fully automated and they're probably churning through the catalogue.

Thanks! Came looking for answer to this as it's affecting me as well. Really liking Galaxy so far, so I'll wait. More time for Inquisition. :)

I just installed it via the web page download and it's now available in Galaxy.

Huh, if the installer has been updated to be galaxy-compatible, but it's still not "available" to install directly in galaxy, I think that's a bug somewhere. If those things are so, can you file a support item?
They know about the issue. There's a specific list of a handful of games that they mention in the GOG Galaxy support section about games Not Yet Available. I have no clue whatsoever why the repackaging for The Bard's Tale and the other few games is troublesome when hundreds of others have been no issue for Galaxy but it is what it is for now.

Maybe it's some legal thing where whoever owns the rights to these handful of games signed an exclusive deal to sell through all websites but only certain proprietary game-sales-platforms like Steam or Galaxy and that's why buying and downloading from GOG is fine, downloading from GOG and starting the game through Galaxy is fine but for some reason, downloading through Galaxy is verboten. I don't know.
I also had this problem, I was able to download a backup copy through Galaxy and manually install the game. It then showed up in my Galaxy launcher.
i'm waiting for native support for Bard's Tale in Galaxy.

maybe it's unavailiable so they could get game with gog achievements etc. ?
i hope.

i'd love to see Bard's Tale with gog achievements and polish version (voice acting was great).

and, as offtop, i'd love to see cloud save for gog games.

maybe gog team could tell us someting more about this 'not ye available'
It's a matter of repackaging. GOG's policy is to unbunde the games it offers, but this bundle was created by the developer, inXile, not GOG. To separate the bundle, GOG will have to make deals with inXile and Apple (for a ROM and an emulator). Agreements like this may not even be possible. It's a lot more than separating other packages as the original Bard games are integrated into the 2005 version (again, this was done by the developer, not GOG).

I don't have the inside scoop, but I'm guessing that GOG is in a holding pattern, waiting to see how others respond before going forward.

That said, you can still download the installer from the website and go that way. It will appear in the Galaxy client and even keep track of your play time. Considering the above circumstances, it's not likely to be updated until a decision is made as to how GOG will proceed. Besides, the web site will tell you if it ever is updated.
Thanks for the explanation. I was thinking of installing some games tonight and was confused why this wasn't possible to be downloaded by Galaxy. At first I thought it was a Windows 10 issue.

Thanks for the workaround.
