CDickerson: Re-spec is a boolean... a switch... if you don't make use of it, why would you have a problem with it?

Hey all, currently there's no way to respec after many players objected to this feature during the beta period. That said, we are certainly keeping an eye towards any gameplay suggestions you have for consideration in future updates.
I think the problem is that the beta testers were not representative of the general population who's interested in the game.
Specifically:
* The fact that you need to pay extra to beta test the game ensures that the beta testers will tend to be hardcore players; in particular, you are not going to get novice or casual players (or those who've never played an RPG before) to be beta testers this way.
* Hardcore gamers have been known to object to features that make the game more accessible to less experieneed players; this includes features like being able to fix mistakes in character builds. (Another example could arise in the classic Mega Man series; in Mega Man 1-7, 9, and 10, you don't recover weapon energy on death, so if you die while trying to kill a boss with its weakness, you don't get a second chance (and this is even worse for a couple Wily stage bosses in Mega Man 2; you can get a near softlock in the final level because of this). Another example I could give is Final Fantasy 3, where there was apparently intended to be a save point near the end of the game, but that was scrapped.)
* Therefore, you have a set of beta testers who is biased toward the sort of gamers who object to this sort of feature. If the beta testing group were more diverse in terms of ability and hardcoreness (for lack of a better term), perhaps the feedback would have been more balanced, and the ability to respec would not have been removed.
