Just started the game and movement keys (WASD) appear to be broken. If I press W once to move forward, I will continue to move forward like the key is bing pressed down. I can use A and D to strafe left or right and I will contniue to move forward. However, if I press S to go backwards I will stop moving. At this point both W and S will do nothing. I can then press A or D and I will move in that direction until stopped, with the same issue as described for pressing W. Only once I stop my character will be stuck completely.

I've tried reinstalling and starting new games, nothing seems to help. Movement keys work fine in other games.

I can't even get to the adventurer's guild without getting stuck. Any advice?

Two thoughts: Check your keybindings to make sure you didn't turn something on. Also check your other settings.

Thought two: You might have to update DirectX. Sounds weird, but DX runtimes have been known to do stranger things than this.

EDIT: Also if you have some sort of software for say, a Razer keyboard, Synapse has been notorious lately for not playing nice with Steam specifically and certain games in general. Even if you're running Synapse for a mouse and not a kb, try disabling it and run the game.

Same if you use iCue for Corsair products.

Thanks for the reply! I did find what it was. I use an app called GuardedID that protects from keyloggers. It was causing the problem, but seems to only interfere with Bard's Tale. Odd, but was able to play!
