Hey everyone,

since my update to V 1.09 the BT 1-Graphics go crazy, especially the magic icons, the 'corner-icons' on the world-interface and it really goes down when in combat against larger groups: the whole interface seems to be crossfired by other graphic elements.

Anyone experienced the same?

Has anyone any idea how to fix this?

Thanx,

Sebastian

Try a reinstall of the game...but haven't seen this myself.

Thanks but it didn't change anything. Plus I noticed that some features like melee damage shown and large 3d are not available.

Any other ideas, please?

Would therefore have to be an issue with your hardware and drivers. Try listing a complete record of your hardware, Windows versions, and 3d driver versions you are using. That's obviously where the problem is--with your GPU and drivers, specifically. Best of luck--haven't seen any D3d problems with the game myself, and I am playing @ 3840x2160.

If Large 3D is shown in Gameplay but is disabled, then the game doesn't think you're running at a widescreen resolution. (Given the problems you're describing, that isn't necessarily surprising.) If it's not shown at all then make sure Settings says you're running 1.09.

As already mentioned, it'd be nice to know what's in your system and what graphics settings you're using in the game.

Yah, my thought was to try a different screen resolution. Believe there were some oddities @ 1920 x 1200 that I didn't much like, so I dropped down to 1366. No notable issues in 1.08 or 1.09.

I've been playing in a 1600x900 window, but on a quick pass I didn't notice anything at a few random fullscreen resolutions and window sizes.

I will say that 640x480 fullscreen scaled back up to a 23" monitor is...not ideal. :)

When it first came out, I was playing these games on a mono-green monitor on my Apple IIc... However bad you think that is, it was worse.

Heh, I played plenty of games on those back in the day. My home computer, though, was a Commodore 64 hooked to a small color TV.
Thanks everyone,

but I am sure it is not a hardware problem: I already finished the game with an earlier version withot these problems. They came up with the latest patch.

But what I noticed now is that - after 2 re-installements - I can play the game flawlessly as A New Game. BUT: Loading a Saved Game (old ones and new ones) leads to the problems I described (without any waiting time, they just start 'corrupted').

Frustrating... Am I the only one with this experience???

If you've narrowed it down to that, then I'd submit a bug report to them. Make sure you keep a copy of a save file that doesn't work so they can take a look at it to see what might be messing things up.

It still helps to list that stuff when troubleshooting since changes in the application may trigger problems with specific types of hardware/drivers/settings/etc. It wasn't in this case, but it's something we could have eliminated if someone piped up with the same or a similar setup.

Anyway, glad you got the game working again!

It's possible...by the time I saw the 1.09 patch installed, I started a new game voluntarily--and my old game is saved last on the 1st floor of Mangar's. But, I'm actually glad I started over as I chose a Monk, an Assassin, Fighter, bard, and two magic users, and I'm way ahead of where I was in the first game...;) I paid much more attention to my character creation this time around, and to which races I assigned to the classes, etc. Once you get apport arcane the game becomes much easier--but you do have to earn it because if you get the spell too fast you will not have a developed enough party to do well in the latter parts of the game. I can still load the old saves, though, and haven't had the problems you've seen. Now that you have a new game going I would be surprised to see that you have this problem again...;) Enjoy!
