I know there are niggling problems and small tweaks to be made, but I have to put this out there because forums can really focus on the negatives (and gamers tend to be a group who has a feeling of entitlement): This remaster is fantastic. It is far beyond my expectations.

I played the original back when it first came out and, at the time, it had some frustrating, but necessary, design shortcomings -- just because the tech wasn't there; for instance, memorizing the abbreviated names of the spells and mapping was a little annoying, even for the time (the mapping was necessary for many games, way back then).

Sure, in the remaster, the priests sing a little too long when healing and I think it would be cool to color code the player names and enemy names (green and red, repsectively), so when the text is flipping by, it's easier to see at a glance who is doing what to whom -- along with probably a few dozen other little fixes and improvements -- but in all the game is fantastic. Great job!

I agree... Those enhancements have really made the game a lot of fun to play, and look at.

I just noticed that I can utilize aport arcane from the journal log to literally click exactly where I want to go on the map.

Very useful.

Having the ability to save our game before big battles, etc..

And yeah, the mapping feature is a game change. I recall being in the 6th grade when this came out back in the day. We had pages of graph paper which we would diligently try to use to map the dungeon. Then, all a sudden you get spun or teleported and next thing you know, your whole graph was useless. Interestingly, in this game, it stops graphing once you teleport I've noticed.

There are a few bugs. I heal myself in temple sometimes, and watch my armor class go down a notch or two sometimes. Not sure why. It seems to then come back at some random point in dungeons.
