I have my party in a bit of a situation. I currently have 2 dead party members 2 poisoned party members and at least 1 old party member. All members have very few or no hp left. I only have 1300 gp so I can't afford to heal at the temple. Does anyone have a suggestion for me to get out of this pickle? I'm level 7 and really don't want to start over.

(Assuming Bard's Tale 1)

Is one of your living characters a Conjurer, by chance? If so, you should know Flesh Restore, which can cure poison while restoring some HP. Also, there's a bard song that can be used to heal your party.

Dead is a bit more expensive to cure, unfortunately. (I am assuming you don't have a Wizard at this point.) You will just need to gather the money needed to resurrect your characters. If you still have the Fire Horn, there's a 66 Skeleton encounter that is easy to reach in the Catacombs (if you remember to cast Trap Zap on the trap that's in the path), and one use of it will torch the entire group of Skeletons, giving you a lot of money. (You could also try War Strike or Star Flare, or perhaps Dragon Breath, if you have those spells available.)

Old can wait; all it does is lower stats to 1. You might not want to level up the old character, and you will want to get the status ailment cured, but it's nothing life threatening.

Also, don't forget that you can temporarily replace your dead characters with new characters or with summons or recruited monsters in the meantime.
Do you have a save game from before you were put in this situation? Because your situation really is awful. Starting over, or at least spending a large amount of time to recover, is all but inevitable in this case.

If you just can't restore a save game and don't have a conjurer who can at least cure the poisoned characters, I recommend creating some new characters and cruising the streets. Play it safe, level them up and gather some cash. It will take a while, but they should eventually be able to gather the resources to get your primary party back in shape, and they'll be backup characters for any time things go south in the future. It'll be a big time investment, but it'll solve your problem eventually.

Unfortunetly my saved game is part of my problem, I accidentally saved my game when I wanted to load my old game. Thats what I get for talking to my wife instead of focusing on my game!

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm going to swap out some characters and try to make some money on the Skeletons. hopefully that will help, if not I'll start over with new character and a lesson learned.

To expand a bit on dgreene's point, the set fights in the Catacombs are highly exploitable, for cash and XP. In addition to the skels, there's a zombie fight that's easy to reach. There's another, larger, group of zombies you can reach quickly if you have Phase Door. The mob fights in the Catacombs paid for gaining 6th and 7th level spells for all 3 casters.

And if you can get to them and deal with them reasonably easily...the ghouls and wights on catacombs 3 are the biggest XP farm in the remastered version. (The barbarians don't respawn.) And are massive paydays. Those fights respawn if you exit and return to the level...and the stairs between 2 and 3 are centrally located.
If you have a working bard, you can also heal up your party (even through poison, though it can be very slow) by fighting a really easy monster, then have the bard play heal party. Have your party Defend over and over.

If your characters have low overall HP however, I think you get allot less out of the bard song and, it may not be enough to cover poision. At higher levels, I found my characters would get 4 or 5 hp from the bard song (higher percentage of their total HP) and it was able to heal through the poision.

This is a slow process but it could help in a pinch.

I believe that's related to where you are...that is, where it's evident, the bard song's effect level is linked to "effective depth"...where Skara Brae outdoor is 1, the Sewers probably 2, Catacombs 1 is 3, Catacombs 2 and 3 might be 4. AC bonus definitely changes when you're using that song as you shift from dungeon to dungeon, and I believe the healing song acted the same.
