Been moving around th3 4 stone circles on the floor, trying to open the door to the stairs up.

I haven't found a clue for the stone circles. Where is the clue?

The pattern is the whole solution for the tower.

So the circles are small to large, 1 to 4.

Just walk over the circles in the pattern and the door opens.
