The remaster of the original trilogy is fantastic, but its getting old now and I know that further updates are very unlikely.
still, there a few things that annoy me:

Bug: Sometimes when I'm dragging a character from slot 7 (into slot 4 each time it happens to me) the "drag" gets stuck and the text for both characters overlaps in slot 4. This stops you moving any further characters and you can't do much with the missing slot 7.

Inconsistency: When you recharge at Rosco's the confirm is A / B, but when you heal at the Temple its Y / N.
I really wish Rosco's Energy Emporium would confirm actions using the Y / N keys.

Annoyances: There's no history or log of the text. When you level up, gain spells, walk over a note etc, If you mash the keys too quickly its gone forever. I'd love a way to recall the last few messages or record the combat logs etc.

Finally, when you cast a spell there are new filters on types of spell (Explore, Single Target, Group Target etc) but there are no "Sort by Spell level" options, or Favourites option. This would be a really Nice to have feature!

Thanks for remastering this epic game series.

If you mean the hints that you find in the dungeons then you can find them on the automap in the journal. Just hover your mouse pointer over a book symbol on the map.

I especially agree, because in the Apple IIGS version I grew up with, you were ONLY able to view the lists sorted by spell level.
You'd click on the mage, then be asked which school you wanted to cast from (Conjurer, Magician, Sorcerer, Wizard, and in BT2 Archmage) and be presented with a list of the spells you knew in the order printed in the manual.
Alternately you could just type the spell code.

In 2GS Bard's Tale 2, there's one spell that can only be cast via the code, as it doesn't show up in the list. (It's the Dreamspell.)

In DOS Bard's Tale 2, the spell can be cast from the list (it appears as an empty slot), but will fizzle unless you step on the square that tells you the spell's code.

By the way, the order printed in the manual is also the order they're in the game data. This matters if you look at the game data for items or monsters, which index them by number, and if you edit the character file for a monster party member, you can actually change the spell that the monster casts. (I remember, in DOS BT2, fighting the final boss solo with a monster with SPBI (to get allies during the final battle), the Dreamspell, and the flags needed to get the Dreamspell working and to fight the final boss while being invincible.
