I played this game a while back and wasn't doing everything right.

Is there a set deal of skills you have to put into for a successful adventure? I didn't put anything into rhythm and got slaughtered every encounter.

If I want to play a melee fighter what other attributes do I need as well and if there is an easy setup what is it?
