mordaki987: is it not possible to transfer characters from bards tale 2 to bards tale 3? i'm not seeing a way to transfer characters into bt3. and the disck manger only shows 1 character disk with 2 dungeon disks and the game disk. so it makes me wonder am i going to have to download the old abandonware version of bt3 and dosbox it? it kinda sucks that with bt3 you can't transfer characters from bt2

I don't have the GOG version so I can't say for certain. However, from other threads here and from playing the Android version, it may be using the Apple IIGS version for the first two games and the Apple II version for the third game. Thief of Fate was not released for the IIGS system. The Apple II version is incompatible with the IIGS, so you will have to start the game from the beginning rather than transferring your characters over. It means visiting the starter dungeon in Skara Brae in order to train your characters up enough to be a Geomancer, which will take some time.
I have the DOS versions thanks to a copy of The Ultimate RPG Archives. I was rather disappointed the Android version didn't include those or the Commodore Amiga versions as character transfers would have been possible for each game.
