I imported my party of characters into BT2, and my mages changed their class to Archmage. All of their abilities were 18, but now as they're progressing levels, they are gaining +1 in their abilities. Is this supposed to be happening? I would have guessed it would have been really imbalancing to get huge numbers of HP and SP, but maybe it's part of the new balance of the non-Legacy version of BT2?

Edit - It also affects the other characters as well.

Pretty sure it's intentional, abilities can go up to 20 in Destiny Knight.

In the next installment they can go all the way up to 30. Thief of Fate had some insane power inflation.

I've noticed the monsters in this version are considerably tougher than what I remember them being in the old Apple IIc version, so maybe the extra abilities are just a way of adding some extra oomph to your party members? Herb has already survived some hits from my LVL 60-ish Monk, which never happened in the IIc version.

I do remember the critters in the later worlds in BT3 surviving a couple of NUKEs, which was at least 4500 HP worth of damage. Fortunately, they had Harmonic Gems/Flare Crystals to recharge your SP in a hurry.
