I'm not sure if it is meant to be this way but, when I use the zoom function the camera only moves about 1 foot which makes the function seem pointless.

It is not a big problem for me in playing but, I'm Just curious if it is a fault or not.

Yes, the minimalistic "zoom" function is meant to be this way and no bug, thus it's rather useless like you said.
