When moving around the game is very sluggish. The playing is not impossible, but because of the sluggishnes it takes time to move around. The FMV videos work fine, but the 3D rendered opening bit suffers also from sluggishness. Any fix on this?

I'm using WinXP SP2

I'm using WinXP SP2
Try pressing a few times or holding CTRL + while walking around, that toggles frame rate of rendered parts.
