When I start the game, I hear music when the Trilobite logo shows up but then it "pops" and then everything is silent. The movies that follow play, without sound.

I set the compatibility mode to win xp, hoping that would fix it but I don't have any luck yet. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I had a very similar issue and found the reason. The problem was that I was using VirtualMIDISynth to play MIDI music. After switching back to Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth, the music and sound played normally.

just saw this. Thanks for your reply. I did have VirtualMIDISynth installed, so I'll try disabling it and reinstalling it sometime. Thanks!

You don't have to completely uninstall it. In my case I'd just disable it while I play the game.
