I'm wondering, how has the sound been handled in this game in making it work on XP/Vista?
I remember it fondly as the first game to really use the MIDI support of my soundcard at the time. The alternative music was horrible chirp-chirp type stuff.
I played it in DosBox not long ago and the sound was just fine.
Remember, the gog versions for UAKM and Pandora plays in DosBox :)

I got it to work with DosBox and some (at least at time of that DosBox version) obscure drivers I had to find for the MIDI music to work.
Nowadays I believe it works with just plain DosBox.
Thanks for your answers.
I'm still considering trying to find the box and having a go at it in DosBox myself, just to make absolutely sure. But both your replies make it very likely that the MIDI sound will be there.
I was wondering if this was better quality then running the original from my HDD with Dosbox? When I saw it was being sold here I reinstalled using Nilo's guide and was wondering if the quality of this version was any better. If so then I will definetley get it... I also have Pandora installed but it's a bit finicky and won't run full screen... I'll definetly be getting Overseer though as it won't even install on a vista x64 machine...

This thread was about UAKM. Based on other posts the answer is that MIDI works. Just need to go into settings in the game and turn it on.
Just thought I'd add that to this thread as well, for any that come looking.
