Hi,
I just purchased UAKM and I can get it to load and run... but without any sound.
I am on Ubuntu 9, installed using Wine. I use Alsa mixer for sound. Not sure where to go from here. Has anyone else run this under linux successfully? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,
thanks for the reply. Though I am only having trouble with sound. I can launch the game, I just need to figure out my audio settings.
Could you post the copy and paste dosbox conf file for UAKM? all the sound options should be in there. Might be you just need to tweak some of those values to suit your card.
Hey,
sound is working now. Not sure if I even changed anything.
It is a little chirpy, but I can live with that.
Thanks for the help
Good to hear its working even if you don't know why.

][mixer]
# nosound -- Enable silent mode, sound is still emulated though.
# rate -- Mixer sample rate, setting any devices higher than this will
# probably lower their sound quality.
# blocksize -- Mixer block size, larger blocks might help sound stuttering
# but sound will also be more lagged.
# prebuffer -- How many milliseconds of data to keep on top of the blocksize.
nosound=false
rate=22050
blocksize=2048
prebuffer=240 your sound will improve by changing the prebuffer to 240
I think setting it to 100 will have the same effect.
Nonetheless you should run the game under dosbox natively instead of running the windows version of it under wine.

since the original setting is 10, 240 is the perfect setting. 100 I would assume cause big problems. these are the dos box config settings.

I am pretty sure that setting it to 100 gives you the same perfect experience.
(as 100 is the maximum value dosbox internally allows)
