I bought Pandora Directive today and I can't get it to run. When I double click on the shortcut, dosbox starts and then there is an error that says "No cd drive available" hit any key to exit.
I'm on vista.
Please help!

the answer is get down low, use the ctrl key.As soon as you arrive on the roof hit the ctrl key & run up the stairs & down the stairs & hide behind the air conditioner & then run towards the wall.

the shift key brings back to normal eye level

5. Install, run, "no cdrom"
6. rename in conf-file to F:\ -t etc
7. run, "no cdrom"

Now what???
I've tried all of the above as well. And no joy. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit. Anyone have any suggestions? My cd rom drive is E:

I had difficulties even after following these instructions as well, but finally got it to work:

by changing "MOUNT D D:\ -t cdrom" to "MOUNT D K:\ -t cdrom", where K is my cd-rom drive.

EDIT: FWIW, this game is on the GOG list of games that don't run on Win7 yet. I'm running it on XP.

SemperFi: I had a similar problem trying to start the game, although I'm using Linux. In my case the solution was to change the following line in dosboxtex4.conf (in the autoexec section):
MOUNT D D:\ -t cdrom
to
MOUNT D "." -t cdrom

I don't know if it applies to Windows too...
I was trying to run the Pandora Directive on a netbook running Windows 7 starter. I got the same error code ( no cd-rom detected). I tried your solution and it worked like a charm! Thanks!

You dont need to install any Software!
Just mount anything in DosBox as CD-Rom, for example

"mount d c:\games -t cdrom"

If you have the gog version and want to use the shortcut then put this Line into your dosboxtex4.conf File.
