I have the CD/DVD version of the game but gave up trying to install as it was not working.
Downloaded the GOG version but I am still having issues.
I used the GOG downloader and downloaded/installed the game using the gogdowloander.
It installed the game and created an icon on my desktop but here is my issue.
When I go to open the game, I can hear the music and it gives me a frozen blue screen. I believe that it is the opening sequence where 'Access' flashes across the screen.. The screen is frozen, but when I hit cntrl-alt-delte, I got about .2 seconds of animation (whihc is how I know it is the opening sequence)
If I cntrl-alt-delte out of the game and then click on it to go back in, I can see the Overseer main screen with the new game/save game/config options. I can then move my mouse for about one second before the mouse itself freezes.
So I believe that my problem lies somewhere in my video and or mouse drivers.
Here are my system specs:
Sony Vaio Laptop
Intel Core i5-2450M CPU @ 2.5 GHZ
6 GB RAM
Windows 7 64 bit
Video Card: Intel HD Graphics Family
This is a pretty basic laptop. Cost me $629 new @ Best Buy. I am not very computer saavy, however I did get UAKM and Pandora Directive to work using DOSBOX without issues.
I love this game but I have spent about 3 hours trying to get it to work with no success. Can anyone give me a hand here?
I'd be willing to Paypal someone a few bucks if they gave me a call on the phone and walked me thru some troubleshooting.
I played these Tex Murphy games years ago and they bring back good memories. Would love to get this final episode working.
