I have tried downloading the overseer files a couple of times, and they are always corrupted. Is this just me? If it is a problem on my end, I can't figure out what I am doing wrong here.
Or has GOG posted bad files?

Hi,
How have you been downlaoding the files ?
Did you use your browser or the gog downloader ?
Try whatever method you still didn't tried to see if that fixes the issue.
I have gone crazy trying to fix this. I have used the downloader and browser. I have used two different computers. The files are corrupted every time. That is why I was starting to suspect an issue on the GOG end.

I can't say for sure if the files are ok, since i've downloaded them quite some time ago.
But if there was something wrong with the files on gog's server, i would suspect more people would be having the same issue and posting about it here on the boards.
If you're still experiencing the same problem, try to make sure your Av/Firewall isn't interfering with the download/install process.
You could also try a download manager like getright...
Well, after your response I got curious and tried downloading Beneath a Steel Sky. It was corrupted too. So it's not the Overseer files. I restarted my modem, tried again, and Steel Sky worked. So now I'll try Tex again...

Well it turned out that I might have had a dodgy stick of RAM. I took one of my 2 sticks out, leaving me with 2 gigs of RAM. That took care of the problem and I was able to download the game. It seems that bad RAM might not show up until you try to download the kind of large file that a game like Overseer has. I was able to download smaller files fine, but not a 2 gig file.... If you are having trouble with downloads, you might want to try a large file from another site. It might not be a GOG problem.

Well, it's great that you've identified the problem, not so great if you really have a bad stick of RAM.
And yes, trying to download large files from multiple sources to see if the problem isn't specific to just one source it's always a good place to start troubleshooting problems with downloads.
In any case, you can now enjoy Overseer ;)

I have the same problem, the files come up corrupted but I don't think it is my ram because I am able to download large files from other websites

Same here... I contacted support and they didn't respond. I've searched all over the net looking for a solution.

In general, redownloading fixes the problem, though if you've tried a few times without luck you can always submit a friendly reminder ticket to support.
