Yep. Right off the get-go (program start) I get a black screen, no audio, and an apparent application hang although task manager says it's running. I am BUMMED! Two other Tex Myrphy titles (UAKM and Pandora) ran fine but then those ran in a DOS emulator as I recall.

Anyway, I've checked the forums and it seems there is no recourse to this. Or at least nothing on the Forum.

I'm running Win7 64-bit with NVIDIA v312.69 on a laptop with only the built-in display. I've seen some say to roll back to an earlier NVIDIA driver but I'm reluctant to do that. I also have an integrated Intel GPU and it also provides the same results (black screen, no audio, and an apparent application hang).

I've seen something about ffdshow being required and see there is an ..\Overseer\ffdshow.ax but not sure. GoG usually tries to get all the pieces needed, right?

Wondering if there is any new info on this issue? The game is now past the 30 days so it looks like I may be 'scuppered' on this one. I also now have my doubts that Tesla will run... *sigh*

the ffdshow is for the decoder the ffdshow gog supplied is an old one, are you able to get into the config screen on overseer to see if the decoder is showing. if not you will need to install the updated ffdshow. also since you have a nvidea card you need to set it up under manage 3d settings & add the overseer exe under programs so it uses the nvidea card.
my laptop under win 8 works fine & windows 7 but I have a new video card on one win 7 pc that will not run it. I have attached the link for the ffdshow. after installation go into the video settings & make sure mpeg2 is selected.

Not able to get to the Config panel in Overseer. It is likely ffdshow as you point out. Thankyou for the link. I'll give it a go.
Nope. Installing this ffdshow didn't work. Same symptoms. I wonder if is DirectX related. I only have DX 11 installed (haven't installed DX 9c on the laptop to avoid possible collisions).

I installed Overseer on an XP box and it's running just fine there. Old Hardware for Old Games. Hahaha

So I guess I'm "good to go" in a sense. Would be nice to understand why I get what I get on the laptop though.

You should. It's a parallel install to DX 10+ and is needed by many older games. It may or may not help in this particular case.

overseer was based on direct x 5 , direct x 9.oc is needed for most games it has different files not installed by direct x 10 or 11. don't think its your problem however. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/21372568/directx_Jun2010_redist.exe

the above link will work on any pc.

you might have other codec installed on your pc that does cause problems with overseer. There will be a updated version of overseer in the future designed for newer hardware. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6wEKRJTyHU

Yeah, how about the official link:
2) Install the June 2010 DirectX runtime package, then use the DirectX web installer, as your current DirectX may have become corrupt over time.
You can find the ZIP file containing the 2010 package installation files here:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
You will have to extract the files into some folder, then open that folder and launch the DXSETUP.exe file in order to proceed with the installation.
Afterwards, download the latest DirectX web installer use it as well:
