So, with the whole Kickstarter thing I desided to start playing the games again starting with "Martian Memorandum". But the game will not start. I have played it manny times before and done no changes to it since then. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but still the same problem.
The screen goes black, then reduces to a smaller black Dos-window and then it's just gone. I tried to change the grafics but nothing. I tried to run as Administrator and the game started but all the collours where wrong, the game was hacking, black patches over the screen and then it crashed.

Has anybody any idea what is going on?

Not for me. It will start but it hacks and there is this blackness over everything exept for things that move. I'm playing on Win 7 btw.

I had the same problem - screen going black, reducing to the DOSBox window - on Win 8.1. I found that setting the compatibility to XP (SP 3 but this might not be important) fixed it.

Martian Memorandum probably has the most finicky settings of any early dos game I seen.......but after it works its great
