Any word on the 1.0 release date for gog? It seems like TT doesn't have a page on gog anymore.

It left GOG. If 1.0 has been pushed to GOG already then offline installers should show up early next week if they are not currently available.

Ah what the hell. Hopefully they update the gog version to 1.0, but I suppose that doesn't bode well for future patches. Thanks for the info in any case.
If humble can release a drm free version of terratech why can't gog? Also if gog doesn't intend on releasing terratech shouldn't they refund money?

I contacted Payload about what's going to happen with updates for the people who bought it gog and it pretty much boils down to; if you already own it on gog you will get the 1.0 update, but no updates after that. So yeah, anyone who bought will have to refund it here and go buy it on Steam if you want any updates/patches/expansions. Would be nice if they gave people who purchased it here a discount or something though.

I noticed a day after I posted they updated terratech to 1.0 in my library. I wonder of humble will have more updates.
I understood GOG that Terratech continues to get patches, but NOT a multiplayer. More details can only be said by the developer and GOG.

Where did you get that from? Can you please give a source / link...?

I understood the GOG news that was posted in the Germany forum.

..., you should want to keep it and also the update 1.0 with all functions (except for multiplayer mode), improvements and bug fixes appears with us.

So, to put this here for the english folk, too - see this:

"Essentially there will be no further GOG updates post 1.0 aside from important bug fixes ( . . . )."
-Matt, Community Manager, Payload Studios

Explicitly stated; GoG version will get only bugfixes, no more new content.

As such, the game's comperatively equal to the Steam one right now, just without the multiplayer, basically. In a few months or a year, not so much. They're adding new blocks and whole corporations and thus, campaign content, which will never be released on GoG. Making the GoG version utterly inferior to the Steam one the longer we wait.

Which is why it has been removed from the storefront. It's deprecated already, you just don't feel it much - yet. Trust me, that'll change soon enough. Buying the inferior product without the (soon) advertised content? Can't let us do that. That would only lead to more annoyingly "entitled" and rightfully upset customers.

I've been with them from the very start, and technically, I even have a steam key already from Humble, yes I bought the game twice, going as far as saying I feel like these devs deserved the extra money. Wow. Sure makes me feel betrayed and backstabbed.

I still enjoy playing the game, until I remember mid-session - that's all I'll ever get to see, period. I'm stuck, progression is pointless, I've seen and done it all already. Sure motivates you to keep playing, instead of quitting right then and there to play something else.

1 year later:

After the Epic Store Exclusiveness BS being such hot news and reminding me of our situation here, I've barked up their tree again, and they say they'd be "happy to look at some alternatives".

I made a new topic about that here: Tons of development, bugfixes, and new content - they screwed us over
After the removal, there was not only multiplayer and bug fixes on GOG, but also a number of DLCs with a lot of new stones - the difference to the frozen version on GOG. The fact that patches are still being published on GOG was a third lie from the developers.

The multiplayer argument is also a lie, since you can also buy TerraTech for the Switch, with and without online mode. I don't have Nintendo Online, but I could still play TerraTech. This could also be the case for GOG, even without multiplayer, but with DLCs and patches.
