MystoBro: How come steam can have the update but GOG NOT ? that means GOG is inferior to steam.
[
sigh] Did you not read the posts I linked to? They explain that GOG will get the updates, but maybe half a day or so behind Steam, because 1.) with the Steam version, the devs have direct control over the game files, and can upload directly to users, whereas GOG packages all games, DLC and patches in their own installers, meaning they have to test them first (which can occasionally find issues with those patches that the devs themselves didn't realize existed, but takes a little extra time), and 2.) GOG is based in Poland, while Re-Logic is based (as far as I know) in North America -- probably the western U.S. -- which is several hours behind; in other words, if the devs (let's say they're based on the west coast) send a patch to GOG at 15:00 PDT, it would be midnight in Warsaw. Even if Support were working 24/7, the staff who do the QA testing and installer packaging obviously aren't going to be working that late. The next day would be the earliest one could reasonably expect them to issue the patch.
GOG have been pretty good about making sure the
Terraria updates are out as soon as possible after they receive them, but if you're expecting instantaneous patch availability with no regard to time zones, you might as well go with Steam, because GOG is not going to be able to match Steam's update speed for frequently-updating games for a long while yet, if ever.
