Apparently I have unlocked Daybloom, Blinkroot, Deathweed and Moonglow to purchase by the Dryad. How do you unlock the others?

Also, is speed the only difference compared to a regular pot or does it change conditions as well?

I read the Wiki but I'm a little vague on if you need to plant anything in them or do you just set them and let it go?

The planters are basically clay pots with a special look, you need to plant seeds in them if you don't want the same kind of random flowers as you get in clay pots.
