bkruns262: I was intrested in this game for a while now/. So I got it but chose to get a refund. The reason is this game to me is like ok here is the game and here is the turorial. You can do this you can do that you can chose this or that. Have fun it really does not tell you how to get started or how to select missions. And even if you figure out why it tells you to explore Mexico for Alien Activity you have a chinese counter agent and another agent. But cannot get to mexico to investigate. So totally confused about the who what and why in this game so yea asked for a refund.
I bought the game too. You forget, that it is still early access. (Version 03.18 on gog)
The game is a bit confusing at the beginning, but for an experienced strategie player it is not difficult to figure everything out. I can understand, that you wanted your refund, because it is still early access in an very early stage and there is a lot of things not working properly. I mean, diplomacy is not working at all, at a later point you have to deal with all the other fractions at the same time. Peace is not an option. Quite fucked-up.
The gog-version and steam are different there, too. On steam there is 03.19, where they test out marines to deal with alien armies attacking some difficult-to-reach area. At the moment if you want to prevent some alien army infestation going rampage somewhere, you have to take over the countries, then put some army into. Which is just ridiculous.
Buy it later again, when it is finished. Most possible it is cheaper then, too.
