I have the sound set to stereo, 22050Hz. The sound of laser fire seems to lag almost a full second behind pulling the trigger. Setting it to surround has the same problem, but ads weird (incorrect) spatial effects. Was the original game like this or does anyone know a fix?
To answer my own question: I was editing the wrong conf file. Eventually a blocksize of 512 and prebuffer of 30 works ok-ish.
