It's a false positive. The thread regarding this just got locked, of course while I was in the middle of writing a super long reply. Thanks for that gog.

I just downloaded the game 10 minutes ago and got the same using Comodo Firewall, so the installer hasn't been updated for this.

Thought it would be a false positive. I'll send a false positive to Comodo.

Add me to the list of people that the new installation program still doesn't help me. I am a Trend Micro user and it still immediate quarantines the toee.exe file. It is all very frustrating.

New install program was a dud here too. Using Norton.

McAfee is still reporting ToEE.exe as a Trojan with the new installer.

The new file still gives a false positive using comodo antivirus.
I reported a false positive to them.

May GOG.com's support team test more carefully the files before publication, please?

Running: Microsoft Security Essentials, AVGfree 11.0, and Malwarebytes full version.

I had to add it as an exception to all three, then it worked just fine. This program is NOT a virus, it just looks like a virus.

Well, McAfee has no such option, and even if you shut down real-time scanner, it still quarantines TOEE.exe.

GOG People, could you be so kind to talk to McAfee ?

I have already sent them the file, asked customer support and even uploaded it to Avert Labs (their antivirus research branch), but this did not help (the file is still detected as Generic.dx Trojan).

That really stinks. One reason I like to stick with AVGfree is it assumes you're competent enough to know when something you bought and installed is NOT a virus.

is this a trojan or not. if i shutt off antivirus am i then letting a trojan in on my pc?

If GoG can't solve this problem with AV companies, I will just stop purchasing games from them. I have Mc Afee, have no idea how to solve the problem, and after trying all the GoG suggestions w/o sucess - am frustrated and best way to show that is shop elsewhere.

GOG.com's support team claims that there's no trojan.
Comodo antivirus using highest heuristic settings shows the temple.exe file as unclassified malware. I've often experienced such false positives due to high security settings.

If you consider GOG.com a trusted publisher and if the integrity check on the installation file succeeds you may execute the program, as I did.

Anyway, GOG.com should soon solve this problem.

To add to the above , Malawarebytes also detects some malaware, when in the contrary, NOD32 detects nothing....
Now, i trust GOG and am still buying from them but you have to agree that all these ARE disturbing and un-easing... It is not just one over reacting antivirus but a whole bunch of them...Malawarebytes saved me more times that i can remember and it has my trust.
People buy a legit game,are not pirating it and want their peace of mind when installing it/ running it.
So? Now what? I still haven't decide to install it. Can we have another version of the game- non irritating our antivirus?
