Alas, I can't stand the retro-hipster look, so haven't tried it myself.

What, you can't stand the awkward Ultima VII what-the-heck-kind-of-camera-angle-is-this graphics? :p
I liked Knights of the Chalice. I think it's actually a bit harder than ToEE, personally. At least that's what I thought at the time I first played it. I don't want to pay 15 quid (is that how you spell it? I have no pound sign) for it, though. That's $23 US. That's real money!
