I just noticed that one of my characters that I had to get resurected went from having around 16k XP to having 5k

I couldnt find anything in the manual on this.

Is this a bug or is this supposed to happen if you have to raise a character from the dead?

16 to 5 sounds a bit too much to me.

It sounds like Raise Dead loses XP, but Ressurect doesn't. But it might be a glitch.

There's no way not to lose the xp from getting the rez.

However, look here:

And follow the console commands for raising your xp up to where it was. That's be the only way to "disable" the xp loss.

You'd hit SHIFT + ~ then:

game.party[0].stat_experience 16000 - first character on the left
game.party[1].stat_experience 16000 - 2nd character from left
game.party[2].stat_experience 16000 - 3rd character from left
game.party[3].stat_experience 16000 - 4th
game.party[4].stat_experience 16000 - 5th
game.party[5].stat_experience 16000 - 6th

OK Thanks and I guess I meant Raise Dead at the Temple not Resurect

I should have gone to the druid

Not sure why it dropped me to 5k XP though as I was at level 6 so it should have dropped to somewhere between 10k and 15k

Will see if a restoration spell helps
Almost forgot

How do I acces steh console?

I do not have the CO8 patch and went with the default install location from GOG

Also where are the save games located and could I copy them across to a new install location ?

The console is accessed by hitting SHIFT and ~. The ~ ("tilde key") is the top left key on the main group of keys on the keyboard, one space left of the 1 key.

I'm not sure where the save games are.

Check wherever you installed the game and look in the folder: Modules->ToEE->Save

This could be the root of the problem, you may have encountered a bug the official patches preapplied to the GOG version haven't fixed.

It won't work with your current saves (you'd have to start over) but the Co8 patch/mod is well worth future consideration.
