After downloading this to desktop I double click the installation icon then nothing, desktop freezes and I have to reboot the computer, anyone know how to sort this?

If you're running Vista/Windows 7 have you tried disabling UAC ?

Are you using an antivirus program like McAfee or Norton?

When you say it freezes, how long do you wait before concluding its locked up and rebooting?

I have Norton but I turn it off before trying to install and I waited for about 20-25 mins before rebooting last time I tried it .
