Well i am using the circle of 8th modpak 5.9.2 and after i explored the moathouse at the beginning, my logbook would stop working. i could still talk to ppl in hommlet about them giving me quests but they wont show up in my logbook or unlock dialog options i would need to finish those quests.
Also, one quest i started before and finished after i still being marked as accepted, not finished.

Is it possible that i caused this by

a) accidently starting the game without using the "font-end"

b) letting this master guy live (he took me to the temple without a stop in nulb) and using him as companion till he ran off after i exited the hommlet inn. so i got some odd reputation.

or somehting else? or is it just the mod being broken?

Not using the CO8 frontend to start the game will definitely give you a screwy game, so i reckon that is what is causing your errors.
probably but starting it with the front end again didnt help either. or it already messed up my savegame.

Had same issue.. I dumped the Co8 addon.. and reinstalled the vanilla release from gog..
well i started a new game and till now it works.
did you do anything from what i listed in my post?
This same issue is happening with me. I started with just the vanilla first, and then again with the Co8 add-on. It will accept the first 3 quests, and not update or add any others after that. I am playing on Windows 7, running as admin. My games are ironman. Any idea what you changed to get it to work?
CO8 has a big warning sign (okay, it's actually quite small in one of the ReadMe files) telling you not to play in Ironman mode, as it will cause glitches in scripts and saved games. They suggest you "just use your self restraint" and only use a single save slot throughout by choice, without the game restricting you.

The same applies to quicksaves and autosaves. Don't use the former, and disable the latter, if you're using CO8.

Ahh, that seems to have done the trick, thanks for the help!
